Towards the end of this summer, I was fortunate enough to connect with a lovely family who was looking to move to the Roanoke area from the Asheville area. As much as they loved living in North Carolina, they wanted to find somewhere that provided a lower cost of living and a great place to raise their children. I feel blessed they chose me to represent them to help with their real estate needs, our personalities clicked immediately, and we had a great time touring Roanoke. During their first visit to Roanoke, we toured several beautiful homes and found one they felt checked all of the boxes!
Fast forward to closing day, which just happened to be the day Hurrican Helene devastated the lives of so many people in the Asheville area, as well as all over the east coast. As soon as they signed the final closing documents, they received several text messages from their neighbors, notifying them that their shed, fence, and all their belongings that were in their back yard were floating down the road...they lost everything that was back there, but luckily, their house was okay. Most importantly, they and their families were safe.
Every transaction, every client is important, no matter the story, and I will never forget this one. They are incredibly kind folks, and I know they will love living in such a wonderful area with so many great people!
