We had an amazing time partnering with the Oregon Wellness Network and Northwest Senior and Disability Services for our Healthy Hearts event.

From a powerful nutrition and wellness discussion to free blood pressure and diabetes screenings, it was a meaningful day focused on supporting the health and well-being of our veterans.

At Courtney Place, we know that stability goes beyond housing, it's about supporting the whole person. Opportunities like this help our veterans build healthier habits, stay connected, and continue thriving.

We’re incredibly grateful for partners like Oregon Wellness Network who help us create a stronger and healthier community.

Essential Goods Pantry Hours Update

At Courtney Place, we believe that access to everyday essentials plays a vital role in creating stability, dignity, and comfort at home.

Our Essential Goods Pantry offers veterans free access to household items, hygiene products, furniture, and other essentials helping support a strong foundation for daily living.

The pantry also serves as a connection point for veterans to access resources, supportive services, and guidance in navigating benefits and community programs.

To better serve our veteran community, we are expanding our pantry hours beginning Tuesday, June 9, 2026:

Tuesdays | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• Veteran Service Officer available: 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Thursdays | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Veteran Service Officer available: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

📍 Location: 2907 22nd St SE, Salem, OR 97302

This service is open to all veterans in the community. To access the pantry, veterans can provide proof of military service, such as:
• DD Form 214
• Veteran Identification Card
• State-issued Veteran Driver’s License or ID
• Other government-issued documentation verifying veteran status

If you need help accessing or obtaining documentation, our onsite Veteran Service Officer is available to assist with verification and provide support throughout the process.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact our Program Specialist, Baltazar, at 971.465.6782 or [email protected]

We are expecting more than 250 Veterans and family members to attend this year’s event.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available! Your support helps us provide resources, meals, supplies, and services to those who have served our nation. Businesses, organizations, and community partners are encouraged to get involved.

⭐ Special Thanks to Our Presenting Sponsors ⭐

Stay Alive Vets and Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency

This year, we were honored to receive a grant from Stay Alive Vets to help support and expand the services offered at the Stand Down. Their investment in our Veteran community helps ensure that Veterans and their families have access to the resources, support, and connections they deserve.

The MWVCAA has been one the stand down top supporters for the last 15 years.
Their dedication has helped make this event possible year after year. From providing volunteers through their staff to generously sponsoring lunch for this year’s event, their partnership and commitment to our Veteran community are deeply appreciated.

Please join us in thanking these outstanding organizations for their continued support of those who served.

Please share this post and flyer with Veterans, military families, and community members who may benefit from attending or supporting this important event.

Together, we can ensure no Veteran stands alone.

Last week, PNWVETS Marion County hosted its monthly meet-up at Best Little Roadhouse with appetizers and mini golf. It was a great night with good food, friendly competition, and camaraderie.

Our nonprofit team leads the Marion County chapter of PNWVETS, a network dedicated to connecting and supporting veterans across the Pacific Northwest through community, resources, and events.

Each third Thursday of the month, we meet for a variety of activities including trivia nights, bowling, mini golf, and more. All veterans in the community are welcome to join us!

Today, we pause in solemn remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Courtney Place Veterans Housing, we honor their ultimate sacrifice by continuing our mission to serve those who wore the uniform and to ensure no veteran is forgotten or left behind.

Let us reflect, remember, and recommit ourselves to the values they so courageously defended: duty, honor, country, and service to others.
