This episode I got the pleasure of interviewing Jason Conrad, the owner of the Salem Capitals, a professional basketball team located right here in Salem, Oregon!

The Salem Capitals play their games out of the Salem Armory and are currently transitioning to the USBL. This transition to the USBL not only brings a lot of new excitement to Salem, it also brings a lot of history. The league’s alumni include NBA names such as Muggsy Bogues, Manute Bol, Spud Webb, Anthony Mason, Darrell Armstrong, Mario Elie, plus celebrities like Nancy Lieberman and NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss, underscoring the USBL’s role in player development and community entertainment. In total, over 150 players have gone on from the USBL to the NBA. Notable NBA veterans are still involved with the USBL today, including Las Vegas Stars Head Coach and General Manager Cliff Levingston.

The Salem Capitals are holding tryouts currently, but the season will be starting soon at the end of March. Come out with me and support our local Professional Basketball team this year. It's great basketball and a great time including fun half-time entertainment! Come out with your friends or bring the entire family!
