Margy’s Story: Following your dreams...
Margy moved to Salida in 2016 after falling in love with the area on a ski trip. She has been visiting Colorado for many years, and always had a dream to move to the mountains. She is a relative newcomer to real estate, but was voted Rookie of the Year in 2017. Margy’s experience includes buying and selling residential real estate in Kentucky, designing and building commercial retail and living space, and running a successful retail shop (Clay & Cotton) in Louisville, Kentucky. After 14 years in the retail business, she sold the brand to a long-time customer and the shop continues on in the same space today. Margy puts the same enthusiasm and passion into her real estate career, and loves to work with buyers and sellers in Salida, Buena Vista, and the many communities surrounding the Arkansas River Valley.
Margy has a PhD in Organizational Development, with a specialty in Risk Taking and Innovation. Her expertise is in inspiring people to take healthy risks and how culture supports healthy risk taking. Margy has been a speaker for different entrepreneurial groups on the topic of starting a new company and following your heart to work at what you love. She taught Leadership and Strategic Planning at the master’s level. Her undergraduate degree is in economics from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Margy’s hobbies include skiing, hiking, biking, photography, reading, and writing. Her very favorite part of life is spending time with her husband, Bob, her two boys and daughters-in-law, and her grandchildren. She loves to work hard, and customer service and building long-lasting, positive client relationships are her priority.
