PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW!

This morning I attended a meeting with the Emergency Management Office,  and a few important items to be aware.

1. The stoplights in our community and around the area are all predominantly blinking red. Please know that this means that the stoplights act as a four-way stop. Please be mindful of other drivers and vehicles on the road and treat the blinking stoplights as four-way stops.

2. The Salina Fieldhouse and the Saline County Health Department are available to community members as a cooling down station and a recharging station for your devices. Please know that all are welcome and please utilize this emergency service if needed.

3. If your refrigerators have been without power since last night, it is advised that all food is thrown away for safety precaution.

4. If you do not have to travel today or leave your home, please stay inside and stay safe. If you have a medical emergency please dial 911.

5. The landfill will open today at noon, but it is very muddy out there and it is not advisable to travel if you don’t have to. If you have large limbs that you are removing from your yards, please place them out by your curb.

6. The occurrence of Salina River Festival, is still up in the air as of right now. A lot of work needs to happen down at the park for cleanup and an assessment of all safety issues will be done later by emergency management. Stay tuned for more information on that.
