Congrats to Dr. Hall! A well deserved award!!!
Congratulations to beef specialist John Hall who was honored with the Idaho Cattle Associationās Friend of the Industry Award during the organizationās annual meeting in November. The ICAās board of directors selects the winner, who may not have served among the organizationās leadership but has been instrumental in moving the industry forward. Hallās research has focused on cow-calf management and cattle reproductive management. His services to the industry have also included teaching artificial insemination and pregnancy-checking workshops, meeting with producers individually, training Extension educators, producing publications and popular press articles on cattle reproduction and training graduate students, among many other contributions.
ICA Executive Vice President Cameron Mulroney credited Hall with helping to establish a research program involving grazing cattle at both Rinker Rock Creek Ranch, located in the Wood River Valley, and the Nancy M. Cummings Research, Extension and Education Center in Salmon. Mulroney believes Hallās research on working landscapes has benefited producers throughout the West. āWeāve really seen a benefit to the state of Idaho and our cattle industry from his work,ā Mulroney said.
