Good Morning Sungate Residents

⚠️ Pet Owners — Please Be Cautious!
Jim, our maintenance man, found a sick mouse on the property and believes it may have been affected by poison. Please keep a close eye on your pets and do not let them roam unattended, as exposure could make them sick as well.

We just want everyone — and every furry friend — to stay safe! 🐾

🥫 Shelf-Stable Foods — (Things that don’t need refrigeration and last a long time)

These are foods you can safely store in your pantry for months — perfect for planning ahead if there’s a delay in SNAP benefits or supply shortages.

🥖 Grains & Staples
• Rice
• Pasta & noodles
• Oats & instant oatmeal packets
• Dry beans or lentils
• Boxed mac & cheese
• Instant potatoes
• Cereal & granola

🍗 Proteins
• Canned chicken, tuna, salmon, or beef
• Peanut butter or other nut butters
• Canned beans (black, pinto, kidney, chickpeas)
• Powdered eggs or shelf-stable tofu
• Protein or granola bars

🍅 Fruits & Vegetables
• Canned vegetables (corn, green beans, carrots, peas, etc.)
• Canned or dried fruit (peaches, pineapple, raisins, cranberries, etc.)
• Tomato sauce or canned tomatoes
• Applesauce cups or pouches

🥣 Soups & Ready Meals
• Canned soups, chili, stew, or ravioli
• Boxed or cup noodles (like ramen or rice bowls)
• Shelf-stable meal pouches (some come with rice, beans, or curry)

🥛 Dairy Alternatives & Drinks
• Shelf-stable milk (cow’s milk, almond, oat, or soy milk in cartons)
• Canned or powdered milk
• Coffee, tea, drink mixes
• Electrolyte packets or powdered juice mixes

🧂 Extras that Matter
• Cooking oil, salt, sugar, flour
• Honey or syrup
• Spices and seasonings (these make simple meals better)
• Crackers, tortillas, or bread that can be frozen

🧡 Tip: Store what your family actually eats — don’t just buy random canned food. Rotate it out (use what you store, and replace what you use). That way nothing goes to waste.

💭 A Little Heads-Up About SNAP Benefits and the Shutdown

I know a lot of folks are uneasy right now with all the talk about a possible government shutdown and what it could mean for SNAP (food stamp) benefits. If that’s you — you’re not alone.

The truth is, if the government shuts down, there could be delays or interruptions in benefits. So please, don’t wait until the first of the month to find out.

👉 Check your case now.
Make sure your paperwork, renewals, and verifications are done. A lot of people lose benefits over something small like a missed signature or a form that didn’t go through.

👉 If you have credit or a little extra, use it wisely.
Grab some shelf-stable food, pantry basics, or essentials while things are still steady. Not to panic — just to plan ahead.

👉 Stay informed from real sources.
Follow your state’s Health & Welfare or EBT updates, not rumors on social media.

👉 If your benefits don’t come through, call right away.
Ask what’s going on, write down who you talk to, and check if you qualify for expedited help.

💬 Think ahead of the crisis.
If benefits are delayed, it’s not just about groceries — it can cause real strain on families, local stores, and food banks. Stress can rise, tempers can flare, and people may react out of fear. Be wise and vigilant.

👀 Look out for your neighbors.
We live in a small community — and that’s our strength. If you see someone struggling, lend a hand, share a meal, or point them toward help. We’ll get through whatever comes next the same way we always do — together.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS FOR FRIDAY
Sungate Apartments

Dear Residents,

This is to inform you that roof work will be taking place on the property in the coming days. The project will begin on the building directly in front of the office and then move through the remaining buildings.

We kindly ask for your patience during this time as there will be some noise, equipment, and workers present on-site. Please be especially mindful when entering and exiting your apartment—watch for workers, ladders, and equipment near the walkways.

Your cooperation and attentiveness will help keep both residents and workers safe while the project is completed as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding as we continue to improve and maintain the quality of our community.

Sincerely,
Management

SNOW REMOVAL! ❄️

Sungate Residents:

I know you are thinking not again! 😘😂

Please make sure your vehicles are out of the parking lot. This helps to ensure everyone’s safety. There is lots of ice build up in various spots because the plow can’t get to every spot. As usual, I would look for Dahle’s anywhere from 7:30-11 am. If you have more than one vehicle it is your responsibility to get them all out.

Thank you to those who make this a priority! ♥️

It’s super deceiving in the parking lot and what may look damp and ok is super slick. Please be careful! I imagine TONIGHT WILL BE SLICK, use extra caution. Check on your neighbors especially the elderly and see if they need anything. If you see them packing garbage out please be kind and take it for them. ♥️
