Most homeowners pick their life insurance the same way they pick a side in an argument. Someone told them term was throwing money away, or someone told them permanent was a ripoff, and that stuck.
I sat down with the life insurance professional I refer my clients to and asked for the version they give their own friends. The thing that stuck with me wasn't about term or permanent at all. It was a question: if something happened to you, could your family actually stay in the house. Not for a few months. For good.
The homeowners who feel settled about this almost never have more money than everyone else. They have one person looking at the whole picture instead of five people each watching one piece.
I'm not the one to explain the inside of a policy. But if you're buying, selling, or refinancing, I want to be the person making sure someone is looking at the bigger picture with you. DM me for a warm intro to the pro who walked me through all of this.
Send this to a homeowner who set theirs up years ago and never looked at it again.
