In April at Utah Women's Investing Club, Peter Rosen from KSL joined us to hear Tracey Dean speak about how women invest.
A few days ago, KSL published a story on a topic that sparked a lot of conversation in the room:
Why do women often earn better investment returns than men?
The answer isn't that women have access to special information or are somehow better at predicting the market.
According to the research discussed in the article, women tend to trade less, do more research, take a longer-term view, and are less likely to let overconfidence drive decisions.
One of my favorite points from Tracey's presentation was that investing doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing choice between doing everything yourself and handing everything off to someone else.
You can learn. You can stay involved. You can ask questions.
And you can still seek guidance when you're making major financial decisions.
As Tracey put it, the most important thing is to have a plan and stick to it.
Thank you to Peter Rosen and KSL for highlighting this conversation and helping bring more attention to how women are approaching investing.
