I walk through a lot of homes in Salt Lake City. These are the ones I’m still thinking about.

A Spanish Colonial Revival on one of the best streets in Federal Heights. A brand new modern home in Olympus Cove designed around the view. A Prairie School-influenced home on Yale Avenue, offered for the first time in 50 years with its original hardwoods, built-ins, and bathroom tile still intact.

A lovingly restored mini estate in the Lower Avenues. A Gilmer Park home that feels more like a European castle, with Red Butte Creek running through the backyard. A 1970s Federal Heights home that wasn’t built for today, but for generations to come. And an eclectic, beautifully renovated Tudor in 15th & 15th that proves historic doesn’t have to mean predictable.

Different eras. Different architecture. Completely different homes.

What they have in common is a sense of place, thoughtful design, and a feeling that’s almost impossible to replicate. You know the feeling, right? When you walk into a home and instantly know they got it right.

Those are the homes I never get tired of seeing, and exactly why I love selling real estate in Salt Lake City proper.

📍The Dainty Pear Co. 🍐✨

Walking into this adored Midway shop feels a bit like wandering into a French chateau, one where every cupboard and corner has been collected over time. Shelves lined with beautiful French pottery, original paintings leaning against the walls, linens, cookbooks, olive oils, and pieces you imagine bringing home and keeping for years.

If you’re anything like me, you believe a beautiful life begins at home.

I’ve always believed our homes should be filled with things we genuinely love to look at and use. The painting you stop to admire every time you walk past it. The serving bowl you pull out when friends come for dinner. The linen napkins that make a Tuesday night meal feel special.

Not because everyday life needs to be perfect, but because I think there’s something meaningful about making it beautiful where we can. 🌼

That’s what I find so inspiring about The Dainty Pear Co. It celebrates the art of making a home, of cooking something wonderful, setting the table, collecting pieces with a story, and creating a place where people want to stay awhile.

And tucked right alongside the shop is the Olive Press Café, so naturally, a morning spent wandering the shelves is best followed by a coffee and something delicious.☕️🥐
