On July 1st, Salt Lake city adopted new roles for short-term rentals:

- Business license required
- One license per dwelling unit
- Maximum one STR license per owner
- Licenses are non-transferable
- Allowed only in specific zoning districts (not all zoning codes)
- Local contact required (24/7, 2-hour response)
- Minimum one off-street parking space
- Minimum two-night stay
- Maximum 200 rental nights per year
