In an appraisal report the “Effective Date” is important because it’s the date when the value of your home becomes effective. This date is usually when the appraiser performs the actual inspection. In the case of an estate appraisal, the effective date will be the date of death.

Today we’re celebrating Appraisal Coordinator, Samantha Crandall. Samantha has been with Aspen for just over a year. When she isn’t answering clients questions, assisting the appraisers or taking orders Sam enjoys camping and family BBQs. She thinks Halloween is the best day of the year and her favorite vacation spot is Disneyland.

When asked about Samantha’s contribution to the team Office Manager, Candy Gold said: “Samantha is a pleasure to work with! She has been an amazing asset and addition to our Aspen team. Despite our workload nearly doubling and subsequently raising our stress level, she persists with no complaints. Her commitment to this team is incredible and much appreciated! Thanks for joining our team, Samantha!”

GLA is an acronym that stands for Gross Living Area. The GLA is the floor space inside you’re home that is above grade. This is calculated by measuring the outside perimeter of the home. This includes the habitable and finished living area of the property.
