What an incredible afternoon in Big Cottonwood Canyon!

ULI Utah brought together a fantastic panel yesterday for "What's Up in the Cottonwood Canyons?", a candid conversation covering transportation, recreation and growth, watershed protection, economic impact, and where real collaboration can move the needle over the next 20 years.

We swapped the summer heat for cooler air and stunning views at The Summit, and even caught a passing rain storm on the tram ride back down.

Huge thanks to Teri Klug, David Fields, Scotty John and Mike Maughan for such a thoughtful discussion about the future of one of Utah's most treasured places.

Another great stop for the YLG Mentorship Program! Our mentees got a firsthand look at Northpoint Commerce Center, a newly completed 175,000 SF spec industrial building in SLC, and heard directly from the team behind it about what it takes to bring a project like this from vision to reality.

Jesse Arnold of Hamilton Partners toured us through Northpoint Commerce Center, the newly completed 175,000 sf spec industrial building in SLC, and shared the vision behind the opportunity they identified on 2200 West and I-215. We learned about how the project was assembled, challenges and successes encountered by Big-D throughout the construction process, and the state of the industrial market. While some initially viewed the N 2200 W pocket as a pioneering choice, it has since proven to be a prime location for industrial users in the SLC market.

ULI Mentees Karla Angeles of Big-D (General Contractor), and Rex Buys of JLL (Leasing) were on hand as their respective companies play a pivotal role in the success of the development.
