Farrah needs a furrrrr-ever home!

Want a dog that’s eager to please? One that loves humans, other dogs and just having a good time? Well look no further because Farrah never has a day without sunshine. She arrived in our care with her 3 puppies and now that they’ve started finding homes, she is wanting a family of her own. Farrah loves playing chase with other dogs but is very attentive with people.

Outside of treats, her favorite thing is probably playing fetch and showing off her perfect “sit” and “wait”. Farrah still would love to learn more and finesse how to be the bestest girl in the world but is off to a great start with us. She’s over 1 year old and what we would classify as a sporty girl. Farrah loves giving out hugs and little kisses, so prepare to bring home your favorite cuddle monster. Come see for yourself!

Posted • 🚨A reminder that our Adoption Center is closed today for staff development and deep cleaning.

Working in animal welfare includes the task of mitigating disease outbreak. We’ve been managing a recent outbreak of ringworm in our community and have depleted many of our enrichment supplies. We are asking for the following donations to help our staff continue their important work of delivering quality care to our animals:

Sheets, blankets, stuffed toys
Cardboard boxes
Newspaper
Canned animal-safe veggies
Canned chicken and sardines
Baby food purees for animals
Soft treats
Hard edible chews

Supplies can be dropped off to a collection bin inside the Thrift Store Monday-Saturday from 9:30-4:30, or brought to the Adoption Center during normal operating hours of Tuesday-Saturday from 10-6 (closed 12-1). Posted • 🚨EMPTY SHELVES ALERT! Can you help us replenish supplies for our animals? As a result of our large ASPCA transport last weekend, we are in desperate need of the following items from our wish list:

Canned dog food for puppies and adults
Puppy pads
Soft dog treats

Coffee Bean is anxiously awaiting her forever home parents!🐾

As many of you know, Kevin and I am extremely passionate about helping ending pet homelessness. We have been so incredibly fortunate to have shared our lives with pups that have made forever impressions on us. I have shared we lost our big 120 pound lover boy, Magoo, at the beginning of the year. In his honor, we hope to make a small impact by helping a Blue Rudge Humane Society pet find the their forever home at no cost. I guess our philosophy is making a difference one pup at a time!
Any hoo, this little cutie: Coffee Bean, is looking wonderful people and a home to call forever! Thank you Sarah Swartz for working endlessly and patiently to make these kinds of adoption opportunities available. In my mind, you and everyone else at Blue Ridge Humane Society are saints! 🐶❤️🐱

Coffee Bean is energized and ready to find a family! This playful girl loves meeting new people and she would likely benefit from another dog to play with in a home. She is eager to learn new tricks and is extremely food motivated so training should be a breeze. Coffee Bean does have something unique compared to other puppies in our care and arrived in our care with a noticeable clouded area in her left eye.

Upon exam by a veterinarian, it was determined that she has a cataract that we are currently treating with an eye ointment. We are hopeful that we will see improvement but there is always the potential for her eye to look a little different as she gets older, and we just think that makes her even more special!

Posted • Are you looking for a dog that is easy going? What about one that has lived with other dogs? Cats? Kids? Housetrained?

✅Raleigh checks all those boxes and MORE! This mild mannered pup is so incredibly sweet. He knows sit, shake and is eager to learn more! With us, he has seemed a bit more on the sensitive side at times but warms up quickly. Our volunteers say he is easy to harness, walks great on leash, checks in with you during the walk and doesn’t jump up.
