𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿.

For those of us who passed through this entrance to Chimney Rock State Park for decades, there’s still an ache in knowing why we can’t enter this way anymore. Hurricane Helene changed so much of this familiar landscape.

But there is also tremendous gratitude. Our special park is open. Visitors are returning, and Chimney Rock continues to be a cornerstone of what brings people to our towns throughout the Gorge.

We may enter a different way now, but we are so grateful to be able to enter at all and to see that magnificent view waiting for us.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, The Hickory Nut faced unimaginable destruction. Their building was completely swept away, leaving behind little more than debris and their familiar wagon and goat sign standing amid the devastation.

Today, that same wagon sits in front of a building once again as The Hickory Nut rebuilds and writes a new chapter in a story that could so easily have ended with the storm.

This is why the Foundation for Lake Lure & Chimney Rock exists.

We are incredibly honored to award The Hickory Nut a $5,000 grant to support their continued recovery and rebuilding efforts. Our grants can't replace everything that was lost, but we hope they can help businesses like this one keep moving forward.

To The Hickory Nut: we celebrate how far you've come, and we are so glad you're still here.

And to every donor who makes these grants possible, thank you. When you give to the Foundation, you're helping stories like this become then-and-now stories.

Fall is here in Hendersonville 🍂

This is one of our favorite times of year, as the season change starts to settle into the mountains.
