Good Credit Matters… But It’s NOT the End-All

Let’s be real, credit plays a big role in home buying, but it does not define your future. You can rebuild it. You can improve it. With the right guidance, you can position yourself for success. 🏡

I recently worked with a client who had strong potential to qualify for a home loan, but her credit needed a little more time and attention. Instead of rushing into a situation that wasn’t the best fit, we made a smart decision together:

➡️ Pause on the home buying process
➡️ Stay in her apartment (for now)
➡️ Focus on improving her credit + paying down a few items

• You do NOT always need 20% down. Many conventional loans allow 5–10% down but also keep in mind that there are Down Payment Assistance programs available for many first-time homebuyers.

• Additionally, VA loans require $0 down for eligible veterans and service members.

• Your credit does NOT have to be perfect. Strong credit helps, but you don’t need a flawless score to qualify

• It’s not just about the mortgage you also need to plan for closing costs, inspections, and moving expenses.
