Do you have a business? Look up section 179 of the tax code. Basically, you can depreciate or write off up to 100% of your purchase on heavy equipment(up to $1,000,000.) in the year that you buy it. So if in December or any month it looks like you have a bigger than anticipated profit AND you happen to be looking for a 2500 truck for the business...

Deduct the WHOLE price of the truck off your income!! That lowers your tax amount pretty quick. Especially when used trucks are costing 50k or 60k. Now you can lower your taxable income by that amount.

What does heavy equipment mean?? A big truck, an excavator even if you finance it, a dump trailer, a skid steer, a laser engraver, a large format printer.
