You need a great credit score to become a homeowner. 💳

⌛The answer is… false! (To an extent)😲

Generally speaking, a credit score of at least 620 will set you up for the best success to secure a loan for a house.🏡

However, it’s still possible to get a loan if you have a lower credit score, but you may have to pay a down payment percentage. 🔣

ℹFor example, if you have a credit score of 580, you should qualify to secure an FHA (Federal Housing Administration) and a 3.5% down payment.

Keep in mind, you might be able to secure a loan with a credit score in the 500s, but it will be challenging. 😟

Ensure you’re keeping best practices to keep that credit score as healthy as you can!😊

Here’s a real estate question that is asked all the time. . .🤔 Should I sell my home before, I invest in a new home?🤷‍♀️

The expert advice... It depends on YOUR situation,🤓 everyone is different.

This might not be the clear answer you were hoping for, but here’s an explanation that might make the decision more straightforward:

ℹIf you need access to your home’s equity to help buy your new property then, selling your home first can help!

Especially, if you’re in a buyer’s market, (when there are more buyers than houses on the market).🔥🔥🔥

🔴There’s a caveat to this, If you sell first, you’ll need to secure a lease with the buyer or find temporary housing, while you wait for your new home transition to be finalized.

So, it depends on what your priorities are, and what YOUR particular situation looks like.😊
