Hi, I’m Kasey in San Antonio, Texas. 🤍

I’m a boy mom first, a REALTOR® by profession, and somewhere in between, I’m a daughter, sister, friend, CEO of Laundry, pretend chef, professional chauffeur, and manager of all the things. 😂

I’m an avid coffee drinker, a constant overthinker, a lover of horses, beautiful homes, and home decorating. Give me a room that needs decorating and I’m in my happy place. Give me a plant that needs to stay alive and...well...my track record isn't so good. 🪴💀

I love deeply. I worry too much. I probably analyze conversations three days after they happen. I take care of everyone around me and will move mountains for the people I love.

Being a mom is the greatest role I will ever have. Being a REALTOR® gives me the opportunity to do something else I genuinely love: help people. I get to walk alongside people during some of the biggest, most exciting, stressful, emotional, and life changing moments of their lives, and I don't take that privilege lightly.

I love a beautiful home, but I also know that a home isn't really about the countertops, square footage, or pretty furniture. It's about the people inside of it.

It's where kids grow up. Where dinners get burned. Where laundry piles mysteriously reproduce. Where friends gather, dogs take over the floor in front of the couch, coffee gets reheated three times, tears are cried, belly laughs happen, and memories are made.

I'm far from perfect. My house isn't always spotless. Dinner isn't always homemade. My plants are living on borrowed time. I'm usually thinking about 47 things at once, and there's a very good chance there's a cup of coffee somewhere that I've forgotten about.

But I love this crazy, beautiful life of mine.

I'm just me. A boy mom. A REALTOR®. A daughter. A sister. A friend. A horse lover. A home decorator. A plant killer. A coffee drinker. A pretend chef. A laundry executive. An overthinker.

And most of all, someone who genuinely loves people, homes, family, and helping others find a place where their own life can happen. 🏡🤍

Local market knowledge matters, especially when determining the value of someone’s home. 🏡

Over the past couple of months, I’ve had two transactions where a Tidewater notice was issued. In both situations, the other agent and I have provided additional comparable sales and market data supporting the value, and after review, the valuations were adjusted.

Today, I received another Tidewater notice, and it reminded me just how important local market knowledge is throughout the appraisal process.

Appraisers have an incredibly important job, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for those who take the time to truly understand the property, the neighborhood, and the market they’re evaluating.

But markets can vary significantly, even from one neighborhood to the next.

That’s why having familiarity with the specific area matters.

An appraisal is an independent opinion of value, and sometimes agents and appraisers will understandably see the data differently. When that happens, I believe the best outcome comes from looking objectively at all of the relevant information, comparable sales, market trends, property characteristics, location, upgrades, and other factors that may influence value.

Because behind every appraisal is more than a transaction.

There are buyers and sellers making major financial and life decisions based on that transaction. There are moving trucks, job relocations, school changes, closing dates, and families trying to move into the next chapter of their lives.

That deserves care from all of us involved in the process.

As agents, it’s also our responsibility to know our market, price properties based on solid data, and be prepared to advocate for our clients with facts when questions about value arise.

I will always respectfully advocate for my clients and provide the market evidence to support their position when the data is there.

Good data matters. Local knowledge matters and getting it right matters.

The land purchase is real, and Walmart has reportedly been working through development and entitlement issues involving the property.

So for now, we’ll put that one in the “stay tuned!” category. 😉

More homes + more businesses = even more reason that roads and infrastructure need to keep pace with the growth.
