Unpopular opinion! π¨
It's a good time to be a buyer.
Now I know that sounds absurd, but hear me out...
During 2020-2022, many buyers had to purchase a home site unseen, waive all contingencies, and bid high above the asking price to try to beat the 15+ other offers in order to get the home.
Most had to compromise.
A recent study by Homelight found that 70% of recent buyers have at least one regret.
1 in 5 people admit they bought too quickly.
Buyers today have more confidence because:
You have more negotiating power. Sellers are covering closing costs, buying down your rate, and offering free appliances.
You have more options, and more time to weigh those options because there isn't nearly as much competition.
With the average homeowner living in the same home for 7-8 years, we think having more time to evaluate is a good thing.
Once interest rates drop, home prices will rise, incentives will be gone, and demand will be so high that it will be hard to win an offer on a home.
No one can predict where the market is headed.
But given what we know now, the decision to buy might be worth considering!
