From Texas Real Estate News:

Housing supply hits 6-year high
Housing supply hit a six-year high in August, as new listings rose 2.6% from July and 4.3% year over year, according to a Redfin report.

Other key takeaways:

Total homes for sale climbed 3.9% month over month, while pending sales were essentially flat at 0.1% from a month earlier in August.

Texas remains one of the nation's most buyer-friendly markets. 82.3% of Austin homes, San Antonio (82.1%), Dallas (79%) and Houston (77.4%) sold below their original asking price in August.

Median sale prices also fell 6.3% in Austin, 2.6% in Fort Worth, and 1.5% in Houston among Texas metros.

Nationally, 59.5% of homes sold below their original list price in August, while the median sale price rose 2.2% year over year to $398,596.
