Very much enjoyed speaking to the Monday Lunch crowd at Aggie Park. Covered 50 years as a quail "expert". What worked and what didn't; sprinklers, feeders, burning, herbicides, etc. everything I've tried over the years to improve habitat for Bobs with several humorous side stories.

Pray for a break in this drought. Wildlife is really suffering at a time when nesting, fawning, spawning etc. is just beginning. The only green on my place is Texas holly, Cedar, and Live oak; need a very wet Spring.

Sad way to start the day. Found this young buck on my place, in my boundary fence. Got him out Ok, but I believe both his hips were dislocated. Gave him and hour to recover, but to no avail; he could not get his legs under him so I had to do the ethical thing and put him down.
