Today we remember September 11, 2001 β a day of unimaginable loss, deep courage, and national unity. It changed the course of history, the way we see safety, service, and sacrifice. Itβs a reminder that in our darkest moments, the human spirit can still shine.
One story that always sticks with me is about Kevin Cosgrove. He was a vice president at Aon, working in the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
When the tower was collapsing, Kevin made a 911 call β his final moments were recorded: he was calm at first, calling out for help for others, and then the line cut off as the collapse hit.
Even in those final moments, his concern wasnβt only for himself. That speaks volumes about bravery, humanity, and how people behaved that day β the first responders, coworkers, strangers helping each other.
We remember the innocent lives lost. We honor the acts of bravery. And we commit to never forgetting.
