Check this road construction out!

🚧 US 281 drivers, another construction zone is getting underway.

Nearly seven miles of US 281 on the far North Side are getting pavement work, with much of the construction expected to happen overnight through the end of 2026.

The work stretches from around Borgfeld Road north toward Highway 46 — adding another long-running project to San Antonio’s already busy construction map.

And there’s one big thing drivers still don’t know yet: detailed lane-closure and delay information hasn’t been released.

For your planning pleasure~
TXDOT contractors will begin installing concrete traffic barriers, and afterwards an asphalt overlay project on US281 from the Bexar County line up to Bulverde Crossing.
During the construction, you may experience temporary lane closures, reduced speeds and minor delays--but MOSTLY AT NIGHT TIME--thank goodness!
This project is expected to continue through the end of the year.
