The San Antonio Parks Foundation in partnership with The City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department, presents The Official City of San Antonio H-E-B Fourth of July Celebration presented by H-E-B on Monday, July 4th! The outdoor event is scheduled from 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM at Woodlawn Lake Park. This FREE, family-friendly day will celebrate the birth of our nation and honor our freedom!
Kick off the day with a free Water Aerobics Class presented by the San Antonio Parks & Recreation Department at the Woodlawn Lake Park Public Pool from 9 AM – 10 AM. Interested in becoming a lifeguard? There’s still time to join the team! City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department is offering up to $1,000 hiring incentive, paid training and will cover the cost for lifeguards becoming certified.
Also being offered is a free Zumba class inside the gym from 10 AM – 12 PM. Participants will check-in outside the gym before entering for the class.
Per tradition, beginning at 11 AM through 9:30 PM there will be plenty of July Fourth fare, including local food trucks and vendors serving up hot BBQ, Burgers, Hot-Dogs, Tacos, Aguas Frescas, snow cones, and cold drinks galore! Carnival games will also be available for the duration of the event and patrons will enjoy live performances from the United States Air Force Band of the West and DJ Plata.
There will also be children’s activities set up near the playground under the pavilion with programming provided by the Little Read Wagon and H-E-B from 11 AM – 2 PM.
A few tips for patrons who are ready to celebrate:
No overnight camping allowed at Woodlawn Lake Park
Woodlawn Lake Park is an alcohol-free environment
Please respect the neighborhood and remember to leave no trace! Bring trash bags and/or find appropriate containers to dispose of trash and recyclables.
What to bring: lawn chairs and blankets for seating, reusable water bottles, sunscreen, umbrellas, and hats for sun protection, bags for trash and recycling.
