This day 100 years ago, the Mission Beach Amusement Center opens its gates!

On July 4, 1925, San Diegans flocked to Mission Beach to experience the brand-new amusement park — complete with rides, games, and the iconic Giant Dipper roller coaster. 100 years later, we know it as Belmont Park, still a favorite seaside destination for fun, sun, and nostalgia. 🌊🎢

Would having to pay for parking at balboa park or the zoo change your habits? Please let me know your thoughts.

As an annual zoo pass holder, I would be very disappointed to have to pay for parking and would effect how many times I go to the zoo. Currently I go once a month for an hour or two and my daughter loves the quick trips. This is one of the top gems of San Diego, I think the city needs to find a different approach to close the spending gab!

The city of San Diego is considering charging for parking at Balboa Park, including the San Diego Zoo, which could bring in over $2 million in revenue for the city.
