A lot of people are moving out of California. I've been looking at the statistics, and the prices have been dropping the last 18 months. In fact, I will be sending out the graph in a mailer soon. This is what we started seeing after the peak of the real estate market in 2006. Just before the crash in late 2008. Unless you are locked in for over 10 years, if you're considering leaving California, it might be time to give me a call and have a conversation. I follow Austrian economics so I knew the peak of the market was going to be 2006 and I sold all of my real estate at that time to ride the market down while my money was safe in the bank. How many people can say that?

For 2026, California has been ranked the third-worst state to move to, according to Consumer Affairs’ annual state rankings, placing behind only Louisiana and New Mexico.

California ranked last in affordability and 49th in safety—making it the second-most dangerous state.
