Do home renovations ALWAYS add value??
I’d think most people’s gut reaction would be to say, “Yes, absolutely they do!”
But when you take a step back, do they ALWAYS?
In the first example, I’d say there’s no question that value has been added. The space is much more usable now, nice and open and much more modernized. This looks like a very well thought out and executed remodel of the most important room in the house, the kitchen.
Now, swipe left and take a look at another example of a kitchen remodel that didn’t turn out so well.
Would you say that THIS remodel added value?
HECK NO!!
The idea was a good one, but the ex*****on was……not so good.
This would be a very hard sell to any buyer with their head screwed on straight. I’m not quite sure how this ended up getting as far as it did.
So, I think we’ve seen that not ALL remodels add value. They can, in fact, decrease value if they are anything like the second example.
Have you ever remodeled your home? If so, I’m very interested to hear how it went for you. Please share your experience in the comments 🙏🏻
