Rosh Hashanah starts tonight, a holiday built around introspective questions like: Where am I actually stuck? And what am I going to stop avoiding this year?

I hear that same hesitation constantly as a Broker. The house someone has been meaning to update or relocate from for five years. The decision they keep pushing to “eventually.”

It doesn’t have to be about a house.

The new state law bans HOAs from charging late fees or interest beyond the $100 cap, except for violations that affect public health or safety. It also gives residents more flexibility to have fees waived even after they've been charged.

Worth a read for homeowners—and for those who have avoided buying a home in an HOA community and chose to rent instead. This new law may give homeowners a little more power to "fight the power."
