If you’re planning to build an ADU, listen up! 🏡
San Diego City Council has officially passed new regulations when it comes to ADU’s in San Diego.

On June 16th, the City Council voted 5–4 to roll back parts of the city’s ADU program — and now, as of July 22nd, it’s official.

Here’s what’s changing:

🔹 ADU caps: Now limited to 4–6 units per lot, depending on lot size
🔹 Height limits: Two stories max for detached ADUs
🔹 No ADUs on cul-de-sacs in high fire zones
🔹 Mandatory parking if you’re not in a transit area
🔹 New fees for smaller ADUs to fund community infrastructure
🔹 Bonus ADUs eliminated in many low-density zones
🔹 And yes — you can now sell ADUs as condos (pending coastal approval)
