I didn’t leave a corporate job 25 years ago because I hated it . Ok I didn’t love all of the work travel. 😬 ✈️💼

I wanted a family and realized that wouldn’t happen if I was always in the office or on a plane. Advertising was fun and exciting but I wasn’t really sure who I was helping . It was fun to see my clients’ businesses grow but it didn’t feel very personal since many were large corporations .

Real estate allows me to directly and positively influence families and their futures. It allows me to celebrate their fortunes overtime because we were able to win that deal for them years ago.

As my practice has grown:

I have been able to get better and better at serving deeply, not broadly.

I’ve learned the right questions to ask clients to make sure their purchase or sale is the right move.

I have gained small and large insights that allow me to protect and serve each client during the transaction. How to prepare a home for sale. How to make sure the timing and process fits their needs .

My superpowers are honesty, integrity, diligence, experience, strategy and perseverance. I view each transaction through the lens of “if I was buying or selling this house personally, would I consider it to be a fair deal?” Good results come from honest conversations, not pressure. Strategy matters. This is the framework I use to show up for my clients each and every day.

My heart goes out to all who are suffering in these devastating fires!

I interviewed my cousin who is a Disaster Case Manager. She highlighted some main points:

1). First, make sure you and your family (including pets)
are safe
2). If you haven't already done so, call your insurance agent. Understand the parameters of your coverage, especially rental assistance. File a claim.
3) Register with The Red Cross. She recommends calling them to register. 1-800-733-2767. They are most likely still determining benefits and assistance so keep checking.
4). Register with FEMA. I checked and the page appears to be FEMA.gov/disaster/4856. They have named this wildfire " CA Wildfires & Straight LIne Winds DR-4856-CA.
5). Persistence wil be key when filing all claims. If you are denied, try try again
6) See if you can quickly grab a rental for the next year. Try not to be too picky as the rental inventory will be low. You will appreciate the stability while you are trying to pick up the pieces. Most people end up moving over and over again which can be very difficult and even more destabilizing.
7). Save all of your receipts.
8). Take care of yourselves! Be aware of the tremendous mental and physical strain this event may be causing. Be kind to yourselves and seek help and support.
