San Diego Buyers Get Timing Guidance
As a REALTOR® with Halcyon Real Estate Services, I often hear from first-time buyers in San Diego who are trying to figure out the best time to enter the market, especially with borrowing costs still hovering around 7% for a 30-year fixed mortgage at the start of mid-Q3 2026. The truth is, trying to time the market perfectly is rarely successful—especially when balancing today’s rates with the possibility of more competition and rising prices if rates drop later. My advice: if you find a home that fits your budget and feels right, consider moving forward. You always have the option to refinance should rates improve in the future. However, if purchasing now would stretch your savings or add unnecessary stress, it’s perfectly reasonable to continue renting until your finances feel more secure. My approach is always to keep you informed with the most current market insights, so you can make confident decisions that truly support your long-term goals.
