Wintercrest Village Apartments in Lakeside has secured $56.1 million in permanent financing.

Northmarq arranged the refinance for the 354-unit garden-style multifamily community through its Fannie Mae DUS platform. The financing includes a 10-year term with full-term interest-only payments.

Located in East County San Diego, the property benefits from access to major transportation corridors, employment centers and retail destinations, along with Lakeside’s relative affordability compared to coastal communities.

A Carlsbad retail center has sold for $91.3 million.

11North Partners acquired The Beacon, a 122,167-square-foot neighborhood center anchored by Equinox and home to a mix of retail and dining tenants including Arhaus, Sweetgreen, Shake Shack and Jeni’s Ice Cream.

JLL Capital Markets arranged the sale and represented the seller, Asana Partners.

A new multifamily project is officially underway in North Park.

CEDARst Companies has secured an $80 million construction loan for The Samuel, a 197-unit development planned for the corner of Adams Avenue and Idaho Street. The project will include 189 parking spaces and a range of resident amenities, with completion expected in September 2028.

The Samuel adds to CEDARst’s growing portfolio of multifamily projects across San Diego.

A historic San Diego property is set for a major transformation.

Live Nation has announced plans to restore and adaptively reuse the historic Wonder Bread Building near Petco Park as a new 4,000-capacity music venue.

Rather than demolishing the property, the project will preserve its historic character while introducing a new commercial use. Expected to open in 2028, the venue is projected to generate approximately $97 million in annual economic impact and support activity at nearby restaurants, hotels and retailers.
