California disabled veterans: SB 296 could mean a major property tax break. The new California law expands the Disabled Veterans’ Property Tax Exemption for qualifying disabled veteran homeowners, with the benefit depending in part on household income and other eligibility requirements. For 2027, the low-income household threshold is $83,474, and that number is adjusted over time. If you’re a disabled veteran who owns a primary residence in California—or you know someone who does—contact your County Assessor to find out how the exemption applies to you and how to file. And please send this video to a California veteran who might benefit from it.
