Downtown SD just scored a massive upgrade with the brand-new 45,000 sq. ft. Whole Foods Market opening September 23rd at 9:00 AM at 200 West A Street (base of The Torrey). The store features underground parking, daily hours from 7 AM to 10 PM, full-service meat/seafood, hot bars, fresh sushi, a coffee bar, and 1,500+ local CA items. Opening morning perks for the first 300 people include free coffee, protein bars, a limited-edition Downtown SD tote, and a coupon worth up to $100 off. As only the 4th location in SD County, it's a huge shift for downtown real estate.

Welcome back! Today we’re diving into Freeway Etiquette for anyone moving to or visiting Southern California:

Under 80 MPH? Stick to the right lanes.
80+ MPH? Take the far left lane.
The 65 MPH Sign? A formality across California (SD, OC, LA, Bay Area), the left lane moves fast, and if you go slow there, you will get tailgated or cut off!
Exit Line Cutting: Rush hour exit lines get chaotic. Drivers rarely signal because signaling signals others to close the gap, turning merging into a silent game of chicken.

Free parking is coming back to Balboa Park.

Starting January 1, 2027, the City Council is ending the paid parking program after it drove visitors away and hit the park's museums and businesses hard. Until then, San Diego residents can already park free in 7 of the 12 lots. Register through the city's resident parking portal.

Balboa Park is San Diego's crown jewel. Good to see it getting easier to enjoy again.
