This year, the Presidio Scholars Program partnered with Urban Land Institute UrbanPlan to give our scholars a crash course in real estate development before officially kicking off the summer.

Over the course of a full day, students worked through a failed development project and reimagined it into something more financially feasible, community-oriented, and sustainable. The session challenged scholars to think like developers while balancing finance, design, public impact, and long-term feasibility.

UrbanPlan was an incredible introduction to the industry and left our scholars excited to dive deeper as the summer program begins. The day also served as a kickoff event for the broader Presidio Bay community before the start of the summer.

Huge thank you to the team at Urban Land Institute for continuing to show up for our scholars and creating an experience they won’t forget.
