In response to rapidly needed climate adaptation action, I am delighted to announce the award of a patent for the Resilient Waterfront Platform© invention and intellectual property, United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Patent No. 11,655,603 B2.

The Platform is a new go-to standard and model, a flexible framework that is scalable at warp speed, for the mobilization and adaptation of the United States of America, the world, and its waterfronts and coastlines to combat climate change and sea level rise.

With broad applicability to waterfronts everywhere, ranging from infrastructure to planning and real estate, the innovative Platform represents the first climate technology patent ever awarded by the United States Patent and Trademark Office in the realm of waterfront resilience and adaptation to mitigate climate change and sea level rise.

By 2100, the likely global mean sea level rise ranges from 1’ to 3’.

By 2100, a global mean sea level above this likely range-- approaching 7’ under a very high GHG emissions scenario (SSP5-8.5) --cannot be ruled out, due to deep uncertainty in ice sheet processes.

By 2150, the likely global mean sea level rise ranges from 1’ to 6’.
