We're excited to announce our final panelist for the Innovation and Solutions in Technology panel with the Skoll Foundation on April 8th!

Meet Michelle Boyd, Chief Strategy Officer for Terner Labs and Director for the Terner Housing Innovation Labs, a program to support early-stage entrepreneurs tackling the high cost of housing. She brings nearly a decade of experience in community and startup finance, organizational design, and urban policy research. Prior to joining the Terner team, Michelle worked as a strategy consultant for the Bridgespan Group, collaborating with nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, and foundation leaders across issues of community development, housing, and education. Michelle holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business, an Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Real Estate from UC Berkeley, and a BA in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. Michelle also serves as a Chamberlin Fellow with the Urban Land Institute.

Our very own co-founder and CEO, Julia D'Antonio is the next panelist for our Innovation and Solutions in Technology Panel in partnership with the Skoll Foundation!!! Read about her background and register to hear what she has to say at the link in our bio!

Julia has worked on housing policy and homelessness issues for over a decade as a community organizer and Shelter Client Advocate. She is currently the co-founder and CEO of Cazeira. Still immersed in her community, she sits on the board of the San Francisco Coalition on Homelessness and Prop C Our City Our Home Committee as Vice Chair and Community Impact Liaison - overseeing $350 million a year towards housing and services for people experiencing homelessness. She is working to build self-sustaining tangible tools for low-income, working class, and historically excluded communities of color. In her spare time, she creates mixed-medium art and spends time with her daughters ages 8 and 10, while continuing to immerse herself in the community, volunteerism, and policy work. She holds a BS from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.

Izzy graduated from Temple University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, double majoring in International Business and Legal Studies and minoring in Spanish. She has worked in risk management in the healthcare industry for over 7 years, and was also a landlord/ investor in West Philadelphia for more than 6 years. She decided to leave her full-time job in in January 2019 to disrupt the real estate industry with solutions to help landlords rent to tenants with confidence. She is now pursuing her MBA with Temple University, wile working full time for one of the top tech companies in the world. Izzy spends her spare time helping future entrepreneurs at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy develop their innovations, and volunteering at Epiphany Fellowship Church and Fulphil.

Our next panelist brings over 30 years of experience in community organizing and has had an incredible impact on the Bay Area community. We’re so honored to introduce Jenny Friedenbach, Executive Director of the Coalition on Homelessness ().

Jennifer is currently the Executive Director of the Coalition on Homelessness, San Francisco. She has worked for the Coalition for 27 years, as Executive Director, as organizing director, substance abuse and mental health work group coordinator and fundraiser. Previous to coming to San Francisco, Jennifer was Director of the Hunger and Homeless Action Coalition of San Mateo County. Ms. Friedenbach has a long history of community organizing, and has worked on a range of poverty-related issues including welfare rights, housing, homeless prevention, health care, disability, and human and civil rights. During her tenure, she has achieved significant victories alongside homeless people and community members including crafting Prop C Our City Our Home a tax on corporations that pays for homeless housing, treatment, shelter and prevention for thousands of San Franciscans, the creation of a local housing subsidy serving hundreds of homeless families, the major expansion of prevention efforts resulting in the halting of displacement of more than a 1,000 households, expansion of substance abuse treatment resulting in decreased overdoses and shorter waits, spearheaded numerous legislative reforms protecting the rights of homeless people, and garnered public investments in programs that have saved countless lives.

Happy to introduce you to our next amazing panelist, Atticus LeBlanc! Atticus is the founder and CEO of , the country’s largest co-living marketplace designed specifically for the workforce. Founded in 2017, PadSplit is structured as a Public Benefit Corporation with a mission to help solve the affordable housing crisis, one room at a time.

Through its innovative shared-housing model, PadSplit aligns incentives between cities, nonprofits, and property owners to spur cost-effective housing creation without public subsidy, all while providing safe and affordable housing for working-class individuals with a median income of $25K.
By using affordable housing as a means for greater financial independence, PadSplit’s members are able to save more, improve their credit score and purchase their own vehicles and homes, all dramatically improving their lives. PadSplit currently operates more than 4,000 affordable units across 10 markets with an additional pipeline of almost 5,000 units, and another $330M in committed development capital.

Cynthia Nagendra, Deputy Director of Planning and Strategy, was recently appointed by San Francisco Mayor London Breed to the executive leadership team of San Francisco’s Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing.

She brings over 15 years of experience in designing homeless response systems and programs. She has focused her career on effectuating systems change at all levels of government using outcomes-based analysis and program design, with the goal of preventing and ending homelessness and advancing housing justice. She has worked on homelessness policy, planning, data-driven program design and evaluation, advocacy, developing cross-sector partnerships, and research in dozens of communities across the country.

We’re thrilled to announce that Del Seymour, Founder of Code Tenderloin (), will be the Master of Ceremonies for our panel on April 8th! Read more about his background below and register for the panel at the link in our bio!

A veteran and compassionate neighbor, Del Seymour has been a member of the Tenderloin community for the past 30 years. He is a leader in the neighborhood, working closely with Glide Memorial Church, St. Antony’s, and Swords to Plowshares. He is also co-chair of San Francisco's Local Homeless Coordinating Board and has an appointed position with the St.Francis TL HIP Board. This whole endeavor began eight years ago when Del founded Tenderloin Walking Tours in order to “present the Tenderloin in a favorable setting.” In 2015, he founded Code Tenderloin to address the economic inequality he saw in his beloved neighborhood.
