Move fast and Viper strike⚡️

That’s my number one piece of advice if you’re trying to buy in San Francisco, which is arguable the most competitive market in the entire world right now.

And for my second piece of advice, get an agent on your side that knows every single agent selling in the areas you are trying to buy in. Knowledge is power and knowing the agent’s tendencies can be the difference between you winning your dream home, or losing out again.

If you’re looking to buy anywhere on the Northside, you know who to call.

The other day I saw a social media post with a photo of Baker Street back when it was a dirt road. Perched on top of the hill stood a proud 2898 Broadway, one of the most exceptional properties that I have ever had the pleasure of representing.

Seeing this made me take a step back and think about just how incredible our city and our history is, and the history of 2898 Broadway is a particularly interesting one…

Walter D. Bliss designed it for his own parents, Duane and Elizabeth, whose fortune came from gold, lumber, railroads and the early promotion of Lake Tahoe.

It was one of his first projects.

He would go on to design the St. Francis Hotel, the Geary Theater and the Flood Mansion, but this house came first.

Dutch Colonial Revival in Flemish bond brick, built into the hillside so it reads as two storeys from Broadway and drops an incredible five floors along the Baker Street stairs.

It stood through 1906 and lost only two chimneys.

Was featured in 4 Hollywood films.

And was used as the Decorator Showcase house not once but twice, in 1989 and again in 2024.

It was an honor to represent the sale of this home alongside Karen Mendelsohn Gould 🗝️

I’m incredibly grateful to be able to do what I love everyday and to help so many people buy and sell in the best place in the entire world, San Francisco.

Thank you to my wonderful client, Cherra, for your trust in me and for your kind words:

“Max is an excellent realtor in a very competitive market in the Bay area. He is a thorough professional with a detailed and astute understanding of the market.

Our experience in finding a home here was exceptional as Max clearly understood our requirements and made sure we looked at a curated list keeping that in mind. Most importantly at every stage of the transaction we knew Max was watching out for us and could be trusted.

We have recommended him to several friends who want a seamless and happy process.

Our best wishes for Max and his very competent team.”
