360 Fifth Street

360 Fifth Street This page feature details about a proposed mixed-use residential and commercial development at 360 Fifth Street in San Francisco's Central SoMA area.

Trammell Crow Residential and local San Francisco architect Kwan Henmi (the project team) are proposing a mixed-use residential and commercial development at 360 Fifth Street in Central SoMa. We are providing the community with early project information and will be seeking input to design this project as we move forward in the process. Our goal is to create much needed housing, coupled with commer

cial space, that blends in with the existing area and provides benefits to the immediate and larger San Francisco community. The planned benefits of the development include:

--Below-market-rate units to help address the ongoing need for affordable housing in San Francisco
--Neighborhood-serving commercial space to create an active community around the development
--Underground car parking to minimize impacts to street parking
--Bicycle parking to encourage use of alternative transportation methods

We are committed to working with the community to create a development that fits in with the neighborhood and becomes a place for all to enjoy. In the spring of 2016, we will submit an entitlement package to the City's Planning Department. This summer, we will hold a second community meeting to solicit input on the design. In early fall, we will hold a third community meeting to show how community input was incorporated, and to solicit additional feedback. We anticipate submitting a final design package to the Planning Commission in the winter of 2016 with construction starting in 2017. If you would like more information on this project or to schedule an in-person meeting or briefing for your organization, please contact Tracy Craig at 510-334-4866 or [email protected].

On Thursday, August 25, 2016, Trammell Crow Residential (TCR) will hold the second in a series of community meetings regarding the planned redevelopment at 360 Fifth Street. The purpose will be to provide a project status update, answer questions, and receive feedback.
This second meeting will be largely informational and we will present the project design to date, answer questions, and receive feedback.
In March, we held our first public meeting and participants included neighbors of the property and other interested citizens. The forum offered attendees an introduction to the project and information about the environmental study process, open space, number of units and parking.
Later this year we will hold a third community meeting to discuss design elements and to solicit additional thoughts.
The public meeting will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel at 888 Howard Street, San Francisco. Details below:
• Location: Intercontinental Hotel, Cathedral Hill Room, 4th Floor
• Date: Thursday, August 25, 2016
• Time: 6:00-8:00 p.m.

We held a community meeting March 17, 2016, to talk about the proposed project for 360 Fifth Street.

Participants included 360 Fifth Street tenants, area residents and business owners, and other interested citizens. A presentation on the project was followed by a Q&A session. Questions included:

--Will an environmental study be done? (Yes)
--Will there be open space and will it be open to the public? (Yes, as required by the Planning Commission)
--How many of units will be affordable? (We will follow the City’s recommendation)
--Will you have underground parking and how many spots will each unit get? (Yes, less than one space per unit)

TCR expects to submit an entitlement package to the City’s Planning Department in the spring. This summer, we will hold a second community meeting to solicit additional input on the design.
