Trammell Crow Residential and local San Francisco architect Kwan Henmi (the project team) are proposing a mixed-use residential and commercial development at 360 Fifth Street in Central SoMa. We are providing the community with early project information and will be seeking input to design this project as we move forward in the process. Our goal is to create much needed housing, coupled with commer
cial space, that blends in with the existing area and provides benefits to the immediate and larger San Francisco community. The planned benefits of the development include:
--Below-market-rate units to help address the ongoing need for affordable housing in San Francisco
--Neighborhood-serving commercial space to create an active community around the development
--Underground car parking to minimize impacts to street parking
--Bicycle parking to encourage use of alternative transportation methods
We are committed to working with the community to create a development that fits in with the neighborhood and becomes a place for all to enjoy. In the spring of 2016, we will submit an entitlement package to the City's Planning Department. This summer, we will hold a second community meeting to solicit input on the design. In early fall, we will hold a third community meeting to show how community input was incorporated, and to solicit additional feedback. We anticipate submitting a final design package to the Planning Commission in the winter of 2016 with construction starting in 2017.
