Richard Brodmerkel (Randy Reed)
He has mug shots from arrests online from NYC in 2012, Salt Lake City in 2001, 2000, 1998, 1997 and 1994 and New Mexico in 2002.
Charges include Identity Theft, Falsification of Documents and Property Value Fraud.
He is a compulsive liar and swindler. Do not let him into your home or car where he could access personal information for identity theft. He will have a lie for everything.
He also volunteers with abused, homeless and mentally ill boys, using stolen credit cards to buy them expensive designer clothes.
He is gay. He has not been arrested for sexually assaulting kids, however, I had a family friend reach out saying one teen committed su***de after being with Broadmerkel because the kid, “didn’t want to be gay.”
He is a real estate scammer asking people to give him money and promising big money doing flips. Last known to be living in the Las Vegas area.
Google his name and see the numerous articles about him swindling senior citizen church ladies, telling his roommate he was going to run an errand and never coming back. Year after year, he has robbed his way through life.
In San Francisco, Richard was visiting open houses with his friend named Richard Kim claiming to have $3 million in cash to spend.
I met him through Metropolitan Community Church years ago and he would never show me proof of funds and the number he gave me for his stockbroker - no one picked up or ever returned my calls. I told him I would not work with him until I saw proof of funds. He surfaced again and is using a different last name. I googled him by this new last name and saw his mug shot and an article in the New York Post about his arrest for scamming money out of people for real estate investments - people he met at church!
He has been using my name going into open houses and then engaging the listing agents in long discussions. He is also trying to gather a group of investors. I know people can reform and I hope that is the case. In the meantime, I have asked him not to mention my name to anyone or realtors. I am not his agent. He also was active in the Gay Chapter of the American Legion in SF. If you google his name you can see the detailed articles. If you know his roommate, it is best to warn him. Online there was a sad story about how he scammed money out of his roommate - then said he was going to the store and never came back. I am putting this online - please share as I want him to know his scams won't work here in SF.

A woman in NYC said he used her credit card to buy elaborate gifts for boys at Covenant House.
When he volunteers he wants access to church or nonprofit funds, raffle prizes and the collection plate.
He was excommunicated from the Mormon church. He moved to Utah a few years ago and quickly left after Mormon congregants became suspicious of his activities.
1-2024 - A woman said he drained her grandmother’s bank account and opened 4 credit cards as she lay on her death bed in the hospital.
