This is my client Cathy. Her personality is a bit on the serious side so it may not show, but she's happy because she has just closed on the sale of her condo in the Lake District. She had enjoyed living there for many years but lately the stairs up to her condo had become too much. She's now headed to a building with an elevator so she can easily come and go, maintaining her active lifestyle. She loves attending the symphony, ballet and opera, and I hope she keeps going to them for many years.

As we move into fall, California’s real estate market is holding steady. While there are a few fewer new listings and sales, overall inventory has grown and prices have stayed stable—giving buyers more choices and sellers a chance to shine. Homes are spending a bit more time on the market, which can be a good thing for both buyers and sellers to make thoughtful decisions. It’s a great time to check in and see what's happening locally.

In San Francisco, the number of home sales decreased 22.3% to 143 from the prior month, while the number of available listings decreased 16.6% to 191. Days on market increased 22.2% to 33 days. Median sales price decreased 8.9% from the prior month and decreased 1.6% from the prior year to $1,500,000. For condos, the number of sales decreased 17.2% to 178 from the prior month, while the number of available listings decreased 9.8% to 563. Days on market increased 16.7% to 70 days. Median sales price decreased 8.9% from the prior month and decreased 0.1% from the prior year to $1,000,000.
