San Francisco's most famous waterfront destination may be entering a new chapter.

Along Jefferson Street at Fisherman’s Wharf, new local businesses are opening their doors, including beloved Bay Area favorites Saigon Sandwich and Little Sweet. New restaurants and entertainment concepts are also arriving as the neighborhood works to attract both visitors and locals.

With more than one million visitors in March alone, many are asking whether Fisherman’s Wharf is experiencing a comeback.

What do you think? Would these changes make you visit the Wharf more often?

For more than seventy years, one San Francisco tradition has brought generations together in the heart of North Beach.

The North Beach Festival returns June twentieth and twenty-first, transforming the neighborhood around Columbus Avenue and Green Street into a celebration of local culture, food, music, art, and community.

Many longtime San Franciscans have memories of strolling these streets, enjoying a meal with family, discovering local artists, or simply spending a beautiful summer day in one of the city's most iconic neighborhoods.

Today, the festival remains one of the best reminders of what makes San Francisco special: vibrant neighborhoods, rich history, and traditions that continue to bring people together year after year.

Have you attended the North Beach Festival before? We'd love to hear your favorite memory.

**Vacant to Vibrant: What's Moving In Now?**

For years, many downtown San Francisco storefronts sat empty. Now, a growing number are getting a second chance.

Through the city's Vacant to Vibrant program, more than thirty storefronts near Union Square and Yerba Buena have been activated by local entrepreneurs, artists, and small businesses. New additions include Elaichi Co., Polly Ann Ice Cream, creative studios, and other local concepts bringing fresh energy back to downtown.

Even more encouraging, many of these temporary pop-ups have gone on to secure long-term leases, helping transform vacant spaces into lasting businesses.

Could this be the beginning of downtown San Francisco's next chapter?

Remember those unforgettable jazz nights in the Upper Haight?

A beloved piece of San Francisco music history is preparing for a comeback. After more than three years, The DeLuxe on Haight Street, formerly Club Deluxe, is planning to reopen this summer with live music seven nights a week.

The venue is being thoughtfully restored with a new stage, upgraded sound system, and classic cocktails while preserving the charm that made it a neighborhood favorite for decades.

For many longtime San Franciscans, this is more than a reopening. It is the return of a cherished gathering place and a new chapter for live music in the Upper Haight.

Do you remember when downtown San Francisco was the heart of the city?

From Union Square shopping trips to bustling cafΓ©s and cable cars, downtown was where people gathered. Now, San Francisco is investing $25 million to help bring that energy back.

The new initiative will support businesses in the Union Square and Moscone Center area through grants, loans, and programs designed to turn vacant storefronts into thriving local destinations.

The goal is simple: bring life back to downtown.

Do you think this could be the start of downtown San Francisco's next chapter?

What keeps people coming back to the same tiny seafood restaurant year after year?

Tucked along Castro Street, Anchor Oyster Bar has become a San Francisco favorite thanks to its legendary cioppino, loaded with crab, shrimp, clams, and mussels in a rich, flavorful broth.

With fewer than twenty seats and an open kitchen, it's the kind of neighborhood spot where quality and consistency still matter.

🍺 One of San Francisco's most beloved institutions is entering a new era.

Toronado, the legendary Lower Haight beer destination at Five Hundred Forty-Seven Haight Street, is officially changing hands after nearly four decades under founder Dave Keene.

What has many locals celebrating is who bought it. After a proposed sale last year raised concerns among longtime regulars, Toronado is now being purchased by one of its own longtime patrons, with a promise to preserve the traditions that made it famous.

That means the same cash-only culture, the same no-frills character, and the same incredible beer selection that has made Toronado a destination for beer lovers from around the world.

Do you have a favorite Toronado memory? Let us know in the comments.
