Is a house just for living in? Or can it be something more?
This week, I came across a home in Mountain View that really made me think —
It’s a duplex, and a pretty interesting one.
📍ZIP Code 94041
💰Priced under $2M, sitting on a generous 7,000+ sqft lot
—
🔑 It’s split into two separate units:
🏠 Front unit: 3 bed / 2 bath
- Recently remodeled with an open-concept kitchen
- Wood floors, two small private yards, laundry area, and attached garage
🏡 Back unit: 3 bed / 1.5 bath
Functional layout
- Kitchen and bathrooms have room for customization depending on your needs
—
💡What caught my attention the most:
- Two fully independent units, yet sharing the same lot
- A setup that works for multi-generational living, or one household that just wants more flexible space
Think about it:
- Live in one unit and have your parents in the other
- Or rent one out long-term while living in the other
- Or even use one as a studio, guest space, or something creative
—
The more I think about it, the more I feel —
Sometimes a house isn’t just a place to live.
It can be a canvas for how we want to live.
