In November of 2001, the California Association of Realtors® unveiled the Housing Affordability Fund (HAF), a non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to addressing California’s growing housing affordability crisis. In the midst of skyrocketing housing costs, REALTORS® were bearing witness to more working families getting pushed away from the American dream of homeownership. The Housing Affordability Fund was established to provide more options for first time home-buyers entry into homeownership.
As a Director of the California Association of Realtors, I’m proud that I have served as a member of the California Association of Realtors Housing Affordability Fund Committee for the last 5-years. Our mission is to play an active role in addressing the ongoing housing affordability challenges facing California. HAF raises and distributes funds in partnership with local Realtor associations and other groups such as local non-profit organizations devoted to promoting housing and homeownership throughout the state and especially in underserved communities.

In 2000, I made the transition out of High-Tech and into Real Estate. Since then, I have engaged in numerous transactions representing both buyers and sellers and closed deals spanning everything from condos and starter homes to multi-million-dollar estates. Through all of this, I have never had a single transaction fail. That is an accomplishment that only about 1% of agents can claim.
How have I managed that, especially in the highly competitive Bay Area real estate market? My exceptional negotiating skills, deep knowledge about the areas I serve and the industry in general, connections with the best agents, board level leadership status in the California Association of Realtors governing bodies and most importantly, my “never quit”, client first orientation has been and continues to be the key.
When we work together, the process is never about me, it is about you and getting you the best deal possible.

California Association of Realtors Fund Raiser-Virtual Cocktail Mixology Party

Hi folks,
In addition to being a Realtor, I also serve as a Director of the California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.). Among my responsibilities as a C.A.R. Director, I participate on several state- wide committees. One such committee is the Housing Affordability Fund Committee or HAF.

HAF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to addressing California’s growing housing affordability crisis. The Housing Affordability Fund was established to assist first time home-buyers entry into homeownership. We do this by raising and distributing funds in partnership with local Realtor associations and other groups to promote housing and homeownership.

Our grants have been used in the past to assist first time home buyers who are active military personnel as well as veterans, first responders, victims of natural disasters, nurses, teachers, etc. Most of our grant money comes from state-wide fund-raising activities… which brings me to this invitation!

Hi folks-there are numeruous tragedies unfolding as a result of all of the fires we are experiencing here in Northern California. I wanted to draw your attention to a double tragedy that really touched my heart. Nelson, who is a special education teacher lost his fiancé and the love of his life, Tracey, to an aneurysm on April 8th, shortly after his school closed due to Covid-19 . Tracey was a Realtor colleague of mine. And now he has lost his house in Boulder Creek to the CZU Lightning Complex Fires.

He was forced to evacuate his home in Boulder Creek last week and he found out on 8/25/20 that his home has burned to the ground.

He has nothing left except what he walked out with last week. He will need to build his house and his life all over again. That includes everything that was inside. There has been a Go-Fund-Me page set up to help him. The link is below. https://www.gofundme.com/f/xvdzq-tbd

DID YOU KNOW? Washington, Colorado and Texas are the states where wealthy millennials are moving the most, a new study by SmartAsset has found. Millennials under the age of 35 making more than $100,000/year, making a move to another state favored those in the West or South. Washington took the top spot as the most common millennial destination while Colorado, Oregon, Idaho and Arizona landed in the top 10. More than 7,300 of these millennials moved to Washington State while under 4,800 left the state..... a net inflow of roughly 2,600 wealthy millennials — the highest of any state and DC. (Inman)

While working from home is here to stay, I expect a combination of homework-officework.....not too unlike that which real estate agents have been doing for many years!

Buying apartments has served investors well in past recessions, as Americans lost homes to foreclosure and renters prioritized housing payments over car loans, credit card bills and other expenses.
