Bay Area Resident,

Yesterday, at the Bay Area Air District's (BAAD) Board Meeting, which continued from the previous week, the Directors discussed the feasibility of the gas ban and its impact on Bay Area residents who already suffer from one of the most expensive housing markets in the country.

Each of the Directors had a choice; they could listen to our concerns about the burdensome cost of renovations from public comment the previous week, or they could side with staff and reinforce their support for the ban on gas appliances.

The side supporting the ban won narrowly - 10 to 8.

Those asking to remove the mandate entirely and make it voluntary or to create a years-long delay in implementation should be THANKED - they are:

Those stating their intention to follow Bay Area Air District staff's recommendation and pursue the ban while dismissing the cost concerns of Bay Area residents should be informed of the significant burden this mandate will place on residents. Please send them an email informing them of the burden it will place on your family - AND if you have a cost estimate, quote, or invoice that you can send to them, please send it to them. They need to see the costs with their own eyes, as staff are grossly understating the costs of electrification.

I just closed Escrow and SOLD this really nice home in Paso Robles (San Luis Obispo County). Thanks much to my Client/Seller for the referral. With advising my client in creating a small budget to enhance the home, we were able to sell in about 40 days on the market. Selling in the Southern Central Coast is a bit different than selling homes in Silicon Valley. The processes are the same, but the pace is very, very different. One could say the pace is very, very SLO (as in San Luis Obispo)! But this helped me to learn patience, be intentional, go with the flow, and get to the finish line.

It's all good because my new colleagues that I met in this area were friendly, kind, and helpful. Sometimes, when an 'out of area' Realtor lists a home for sale, the local "Agents/Brokers" can be very territorial and stand offish! Not in this case. I had a positive sales experience! Thanks to my new colleague Wendy and my cohort, Cheryll, for putting me in touch with Wendy.
