Is your home ready for the Fall & Winter seasons? Here are a few housekeeping items which sometimes get forgotten. #1 Replace all smoke detector backup batteries. Nothing worse than the middle-of-the-night β€œchirp”. If your detectors are old, I recommend replacing them. Costco has them on sale this coming week. #2 Replace your furnace filters. This should be done every three months. This will allow for clean air to circulate through your furnace during the cold season. You can find them at Home Depot, Target and sometimes Costco, but check the size before you shop. #3 Before the heavy rain starts, you should clear your rain gutters and downspouts. I also recommend gutter screens to help keep them clear of debris. #4 Have large trees trimmed, especially near your home or driveway.
