For energy conservation during summer, the U.S. Department of Energy recommends:
78°F (25–26°C) when you're at home and awake
85°F (29°C) when you're away from home
82°F (28°C) when you're sleeping
Using a programmable or smart thermostat can help automate these settings to save energy while staying comfortable.
If you usually work from home or you are home during day !! a good energy-efficient thermostat schedule for summer could look like this:
78°F during the day when you're active
76–77°F if you need it cooler while working or moving around a lot
80–82°F at night if you’re comfortable sleeping warmer (or use a fan to help)
Also, using ceiling fans can make you feel cooler at higher temperatures without needing to lower the thermostat.
