Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Today, we recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day, honoring the rich cultures, traditions, history, and contributions of Indigenous peoples.

Indigenous communities have lived throughout the Americas for thousands of years, long before European arrival. The day also recognizes their resilience and the lasting contributions they continue to make to our communities and country.

At Schaefer Custom Homes, Building with Heart means appreciating the people, history, and communities that make the places we call home special.

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Built Differently - Built to Last

This photo showcases one of the building methods Schaefer Custom Homes has been recognized for over the years, Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction.

Our use of ICF has earned industry recognition for craftsmanship, innovation, energy efficiency, and design excellence. Beyond its strength and durability, ICF can provide exceptional insulation and energy performance while giving homeowners tremendous design flexibility.

For us, it’s about more than using innovative materials. It’s about choosing building methods that contribute to the comfort, efficiency, quality, and longevity of the homes we build.

Today, we pause to remember.

On this Patriot Day, we honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and remember the courage of the first responders, military members, and everyday heroes who answered the call with extraordinary bravery.

May we never forget the strength, resilience, and unity that emerged in the face of tragedy.

We remember.

What's happening behind the walls of this barndominium?

A lot!

As this project moves into its next phase, we're installing the electrical, plumbing, insulation and other systems that will make the finished barndominium comfortable and functional.

This is the work you won't see once the walls are finished, but getting it right is a critical part of building it right.

Another chapter in the construction of this unique barndominium, and we're excited to watch it continue to come together!

Building with Heart.

Building with Heart starts with the people who make it happen.

This Labor Day, we want to recognize and thank every subcontractor and crew member who works alongside Schaefer Custom Homes.

Your early mornings, long days, attention to detail, and commitment to quality are what turn blueprints into beautiful homes. We couldn't do what we do without your talent, dedication, and teamwork.

To all the hardworking tradespeople who help us serve our clients, thank you!

We hope you enjoy a well-earned Labor Day with your family and friends.

Happy Labor Day!

Building great homes starts with never stopping the learning process.

We just returned from PCBC 2026 in San Diego, where we spent time connecting with fellow builders, meeting with manufacturers, and exploring the latest innovations in custom home construction.

Every conference reminds us that while products and technology continue to evolve, our commitment remains the same: delivering quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and an exceptional building experience for every client.

We're excited to put these new ideas to work.

Building with Heart. Building for the Future.

Barndominium Project Update!

Exciting progress is happening on our custom barndominium! We've reached the rough-in stage, where the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems are being installed. While most of this work will eventually be hidden behind drywall, it's the backbone of a safe, comfortable, and efficient home.

This custom build is designed for both work and relaxation, featuring horse stalls on the lower level and a thoughtfully planned living space above. Every wire, pipe, and duct is carefully placed to meet the homeowners' unique needs.

With rough-in inspections coming next, we're one step closer to insulation, drywall, and seeing the interior really come to life!

Thinking about building a custom home or barndominium? We'd love to help turn your vision into reality.

Happy Independence Day!

Today marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, a moment that helped shape the freedoms we enjoy today.

It’s also a time to gather with friends and family, celebrate community, and appreciate the places we call home. At Schaefer Custom Homes, we’re proud to build spaces where those traditions and memories can grow for generations.

Wishing you a safe and meaningful 4th of July filled with connection, reflection, and celebration.

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the dads and father figures who help shape what “home” really means.

Whether it’s showing up every day, offering guidance, sharing laughter, or creating a sense of stability. Those moments become the foundation families are built on.

At Schaefer Custom Homes, we believe a home is more than walls and a roof. It’s the people inside who make it meaningful.

To all the fathers and role models making a difference in big and small ways, we appreciate you.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Schaefer Custom Homes.
