Wimberley or Dripping Springs?

They look similar on the surface. The numbers tell a different story.

We compared property taxes, schools, commute times, home prices and day-to-day lifestyle side by side — including what a $600,000 home can actually cost you in each town. TexasHomeTalk

Is New Braunfels the NEW barbecue capital of Texas? 🔥

Terry Black's opened on Common Street on September 15, just a short walk from Black's Barbecue. That puts both sides of the most famous family feud in Texas barbecue in the same parking lot.

Add Cooper's, Rudy's, Granzin, and a new wave of independents, and New Braunfels now has one of the deepest barbecue lineups in Central Texas. Four of the biggest names sit on Loop 337 alone.

But is it the capital? Lockhart holds the official title, and Seguin has Texas Monthly's No. 1 joint. We give the honest answer and a full list of every smoker in town.

They call it chasing the grandbabies — and Central Texas is seeing a lot of it.

If your kids already landed here for work or schools, the real question isn’t “best town in the abstract.” It’s which neighborhood near theirs fits your budget, mobility, and idea of a good afternoon with a four-year-old.

We cover ten communities and the five filters that matter for grandparents relocating — including the over-65 homestead break many out-of-state movers miss.

Two Kyle homes with the same sticker price can cost thousands more per year to own — and the difference often isn’t the house.

It’s whether the lot is inside city limits, carries a PID or MUD, and whether you file a homestead exemption. We compared five master-planned communities using actual Hays County tax bills and district school assignments.

If you’re shopping Anthem, 6 Creeks, Crosswinds, Waterleaf, or Plum Creek, start with the ownership cost — not just the list price.

In the last 90 days, our pages have shown up in Google searches more than 45,000 times. This isn't a listing buried on page 10 — it's real content that pulls real people researching a move to this area, right when they need help with their new home.

We've built out the free home-services directory for Central Texas — the trusted local pros new homeowners look for first: RE agents, lenders, insurance, roofers, HVAC, plumbers, electricians, foundation, pest control, inspectors, fence & deck, landscaping, painters, movers, handymen, pool service, garage doors, flooring, and the like. Listings are free.
